John VanDyk and Matt Westgate are nearly finished with their Drupal book, which can finally be pre-ordered on Amazon.com. This book will be exceptionally useful to anyone who wants to understand Drupal from a programmer's perspective. This book sets new standards for writing about Drupal, and will be one of the most worthwhile tech books you buy. Great work, John, Matt!
Packt Publishing has awarded Drupal 2nd prize in their 2006 Open Source CMS award. Great job Drupal!
It was a close race. Joomla! and Drupal were tied and an extra judge was brought in to cast the winning vote, so it is clear that it could have gone the other way, too.
Many thanks, Packt!
Derek Wright (dww) has made good on his promise to overhaul the way that the Drupal release system works. What we now have is a vastly improved packaging system that allows contributed modules to have version numbers and official releases. Thanks Derek!
UPDATE: Nov. 11 Since this video isn't available, here's the synopsis. You see American soldiers yelling at Iraqi(?) civilians. The soldiers then shoot the white car pictured below with handguns. They then run over the car with a battle tank, put the tank in reverse, and run over it again. I'm quite sure that this brings amazing tactical advantage to the US, and that American citizens are more than happy paying $$$ for this to be done on their behalf, in the name of democracy and freedom.
