Yesterday as a diversion I created Beethoven-piano.com, an experiment in Drupal-driven affiliate marketing. Using the Amazon associate tools module, Google adsense, and a custom module that I wrote to serve search results for SheetMusicPlus.com, I'm going to sit back and see what the search engines do with it and whether it is financially worth my time to organize information about music resources in this way. Yes, it is true; the site is nothing but one giant advertisement.

Dries Buytaert and his wife, Karlijn are expecting their first baby. The good folks at Drupal.org are raising money to send them a gift. I think it's a great idea!

Déjà vu

Naturally, the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

It's nice when people have good things to say about you.

If you aren’t familiar with Drupal, I must say that it’s such a robust and open ended product that it’s difficult to do it proper justice in print. It’s most common use is as a content management system, but that only scratches the surface of its capabilitiesallowing remote access to resources is in huge demand, so we’ll be making our intranet server available from the internet.

This is a letter that I wrote to O2 Germany expressing the frustration I have with canceling my mobile phone contract. Discussions with their customer service department left me angry and ready to scream.
