Jay Batson and Dries Buytaert talk about Acquia

For those of you who might be wondering about my new job at Acquia, and what the company is up to.

I finally learned how Drupal

I finally learned how Drupal got his name! Thanks for sharing the video Rob.

Is there any chance we can get a video or “minutes” of how the certification program will work OR how the planning is coming along? It would be nice to get a project date when this program will begin so all of us who live Drupal can prepare our business and skills?

Cheers

Wow, Dries looks nervous :)

Being on TV (even internets tv) is hard though.

Nice story telling, but I’m still pretty mystified about what the company is up to in any specific sense. I’ve heard almost exactly the same talking points for a few months now: that there will be a disto named carbon and we will provide commercial support. Is this just “flying under the radar”, or is the firm still looking to develop a specific strategy which it is going for?

Either is of course Acquia’s choice, but I would like to know a little more about how this will change the community and consulting around Drupal before it hits.

Best,
Jacob

Focusing on Carbon

@Elvis, Jacob: we’re really focusing very strongly on Carbon at the moment, making it as great as we can, for delivery in the second half of 2008. Other programs and products, like certification, are large, long-term efforts, and I don’t have any timelines that I can share for those.
