The RobsHouse.net Newsletter: February 2008

Hello Acquia

I’m very happy to announce that I’ve accepted an offer to join a new company called Acquia. Acquia is the brainchild of Jay Batson and Dries Buytaert (the founder of the Drupal project). The company is based in Boston but I will continue to work from home in Germany.

Presented in FOSDEM

Yesterday (February 25th) I gave a presentation at the FOSDEM conference in Brussels, Belgium. I discussed the Solr search technology that is also responsibility for the search functionality on RobsHouse.net. Look for more articles and information on RobsHouse.net in the near future. In the meantime, here is a great summary of the FOSDEM presentation.

Going to Boston

This Friday I will fly to Boston to attend Drupalcon 2008. While I’m there I’ll be spending some time with my new colleagues from Acquia, and will be meeting with members of the Drupal Association.

Ubuntu girl

Here’s a funny treat for all of you who are either fans of my wife, fans of open source software, or both:

Isn’t she a great poster girl for free software?

That’s all for now. Greetings and best wishes from Bonn!
