The RobsHouse.net Newsletter: July 2008

It’s been a while, the last newsletter was in April, but lots has been going on, so let’s catch up.

Moving

The big news is that we’re moving. On August 4-5 we’ll be truckin’ our stuff, practice room and piano included, from Bonn to Cologne. We’ve managed to get financing to buy an apartment there, which is very exciting and a lot of work. People visiting us in the future will appreciate that there is now enough room for 3-4 people without having to stand on anyone’s shoulders or sit on anyone’s lap.

This Book will Save Your Life

That’s the title of the last book I read, which I’d like to thank Jam for loaning to me. Kimiko is reading it now and agrees that A.M. Homes is a fine writer. I read the book in a hospital bed, which is funny because the first 50 pages of the story are about the main character being rushed to the hospital. He contemplates whether he spends too much time in front of his computer with noise canceling headphones on. Ahem You can see how it struck me as being particularly timely and relevant.

Fortunately for me (and the guy in the book), the doctors didn’t find anything wrong with either of us and we went home (to continue sitting in front of our computers and listening to music under noise canceling headphones).

Looking forward to Hungary

The next trip I’ve got planned will be Drupalcon 2008 in Szeged, Hungary. That’ll be the 27-30 of August. Looking forward to seeing the Acquia crew there. I’ve proposed talks on the Alexandria project as well as the state of Drupal search.

Haircut

Oh, and I got a haircut.

That’s all for this time. Stop by RobsHouse.net and say hello!
