Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal, offers Jeffrey Veen a deal

In response to Jeffrey Veen’s recent blog article “Making A Better Open Source CMS”, in which he proclaims “Open source content management software sucks. It sucks really badly”, Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal has offered to cut him a deal.

The offer:
For each hour you or your company Adaptive Path spend reviewing
Drupal 4.5.0’s usability (free of charge), I spend 4 hours implementing
your suggestions (free of charge). The review should be public, and the
Drupal community should be behind the proposed changes. If you don’t feel
like setting up a Drupal site yourself, I’ll set one up for you.

This sounds to me like a great chance for Adaptive Path to make a positive contribution to the sucky state of CMS software and I hope they accept the offer. If they do, I’ve put five additional developer hours on the table to support Dries in making Drupal the best it can be.

Great...

Hi,

Sounds great. Let’s see what they decide. I hope they put their ‘big mouth’ to work. With other words: Let’s see if they can come through…

We will wait and see…

By the way: still struggling with a suiteble theme here on my website. I am looking for a pull-down menu implemented to replace the normal links at the top. Any ideas how?
