Successful Drupal meeting in Köln

A small but eager group of Drupal enthusiasts met in Köln today for the first meeting of the Köln/Bonn users group. After introductions, we discussed ContAire's recent experience at LinuxTag, the need for a group/organization/company to market Drupal more actively in Germany, and then I gave a rather long presentation about the Views module.

I was happy with the presentation, despite the fact that two of my examples didn't work right (why do things always break when you're showing them to others?), particularly because the whole was delivered in German. The colleagues were quite generous and looked past my American accent and grammar errors.

I sincerely hope that by pushing these meetings on the local level that we can help inspire some of the tight-knit community dynamics that one sees in Vancouver, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Toronto. For the next meeting, we all pledged to bring someone along.

Many thanks to Olav Schettler and Friedrich Stahl of ContAire for hosting the meeting (and volunteering to host the next one).
